Mental Health Month: PTSD, the hidden mental illness.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health problem, treated and classified as an anxiety disorder. This condition can develop after a very stressful, frightening, traumatic or distressing event or experience.

It’s often the case that it take’s someone with PTSD a lot of time to figure out what’s wrong with them. Most people still think of veterans or other people that have been through or seen horrific things, but PTSD is a lot more ‘common’ than you think. (Childhood) abuse, for example can cause someone to develop PTSD later in life.

These infographics helped me understand the condition a lot better, so that I knew what to do next. I hope it will help you understand the condition in yourself or your loved one(s) too ❤
